Last night, I ventured out to karaoke and my first experience with how this lifestyle impacts my usual social activities. The entire bar staff at Eli's Tavern was absolutely fantastic as we had a quick chat about food and health.
They brought me a copy of the upcoming summer seafood menu so I could scope if for things without sugar and wheat/gluten - all while I sipped my water with lemon and lime in a wine glass. I love them to pieces.
There's absolutely no evidence that skipping alcohol, even in a bar, has any effect on my social life. Everyone actually assumed I switched from my favorite cocktail to wine. And nobody keeled over and died because it was water. In fact, it sparked lovely conversations.
It's also funny how quickly the body releases water weight when given pure nutrients. Five pounds gone in 3 days. (Plus sleeping like a baby). I'm looking forward to how this year rolls out.
